  • A guide for writing your dissertation/thesis with examples of properly formatted pages has been written by Michael Buck and can be downloaded here: dissertation


  • The paper in the department is already acid free
    • The thesis editor can check your paper with a little pen-like device which measures the pH of the paper


  • Once you send you dissertation to the committee (2 weeks prior defense), go to thesis editor office and submit a copy to him/her for a pre-defense check


  • Make sure none of your figures have text smaller than 2 mm in size (even non-capital letters (e.g., "s") must be at least 2 mm. This is a common problem when dealing with screen captures.

The Multiple Author Release is needed when any of the included dissertation chapters list authors other than the author of the dissertation. These forms are only needed when the co-authored chapters have already been published.
