Mac Mail Configuration

You can obtain the Microsoft Entourage mail client from MS Office or the University of Utah Office of Software Licensing.

To use the normal Mac Mail client shipped with Mac OS/X with the Campus Outlook EMail System configure:

1. Create an Exchange Account
2. Account Information Tab
3. Incoming mail server is www.umail.utah.edu
4. User name is u0nnnnnn@umail.utah.edu where nnnnnn is last 6 digits of student ID
5. Password is the password you used when signing on to the CIS system to register courses etc
6. Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is smtp.umail.utah.edu:u0nnnnnn where nnnnnn is last 6 digits of student ID
7. Outgoing port is 25 and Use SSL is checked (Server Settings), same password as before
8. Outllook Web Access Server is www.umail.utah.edu
9. Advanced Tab
10. Enable account and Automaticaly Check for new Mail
11. Port 993, check use SSL, Password Authentication
